Blaafarveværket and Koboltgruvene
Nestled in an area of great natural beauty, Blaafarveværket is one of Norway’s most visited museums. Expansive gardens with tables and benches. The perfect place to enjoy memorable family experiences.
Blaafarveværket and Koboltgruvene in the village of Åmot in Modum municipality, only an hour’s drive from Oslo, is one of Norway’s most visited tourist attractions. We offer a diverse range of attractions for both children and adults, including art exhibitions, a children’s farmyard, mining tours, delicious homemade, locally sourced food, and various tours – ensuring there’s something for everyone.
You can join daily guided tours of Koboltgruvene (“the cobalt mines”) during the summer season. We offer three different tours: a historical mining tour, a children’s mining tour and a mining safari. The tours take place at set times, and you can read more about them and when they start here.
You will also find information about all our other activities, including designated cultural trails, Sunday concerts, the children’s farmyard and special events during the holiday season, such as “Barnas dag på Bondegården” (Children’s day on the farm) and “Barnas Stein- og Trolldag på Koboltgruvene” (Children’s stone and troll day at the cobalt mines).
